MR. MIKE SWITZER
Corporate Supply Chain Officer
North Mississippi Health Services

Mike moved to North Mississippi Health Services in March, 2006.  NMHS is the largest rural healthcare provider in the country.  At NMHS he is responsible for supply chain functions at 6 hospitals (including the flagship North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.; winner of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for 2006), 4 nursing homes, a surgery center and 44 clinics. The supply chain functions consist of Supply Processing and Distribution, Purchasing, Print Shop, Laundry and Courier Services.  The Courier Services are made up of 17 trucks and deliver all supplies, inter-office mail, food (prepared in a cook/chill facility) and laundry.

NMHS will be opening their new Logistics Center in August, 2007.  The next project for Central Sterile Processing and building case carts is in the design phase.

Mike’s 20+ years of previous experience includes Supply Chain & Logistics Officer for Huntsville Hospital;  TriStar Market Director of Supply Chain Operations for HCA, Southwest Florida Divisional Director of Materials Management for Columbia/HCA, Director of Material Management at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center, Gulf Coast Hospital and East Pointe Hospital (Columbia and Healthtrust hospitals);  Manager of Material Operations at Summa Health; Purchasing Manager at St. Thomas Medical Center (Summa); Senior Buyer at Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland.

Mike won the Patty Bibb award for financial excellence while at Huntsville Hospital and the Outstanding Material Manager of the Year while at Columbia/HCA.
